The Dare 2B Digital Conference Inspires Young Women to Study Technology

Inspiring women to pursue technology education and careers, eBay partnered with nonprofit Dare2bDigital for a hands-on conference that brought hundreds of young women, ages 11 through 17, to San Jose’s North Campus on Saturday, Feb. 12.  Over 420 young women, parents and industry mentors from around the Bay Area came together to explore robotics, programming, blogging, eCommerce, collaboration software, networking and internet security. more

Conference Highlights:

Dare 2B Digital 2012 attendees discovered exciting careers in science and technology at this unique collaboration between technologists from local technology companies, educators, guidance counselors and parents. Designed for young women in grades 7 – 10, this one-day event is designed to capture the imagination of the next generation of entrepreneurs and technologists in the San Francisco Bay Area.

• Inspirational keynote presentations from established women leaders in major technology companies and young adult women just starting their careers
• Creative hands-on workshops for young women in robotics, programming, networking, blogging, e-commerce and more
• Students leave with a copy of their work to take home and share
• Meet-a-mentor luncheon, where students interact with young professionals to gain exposure and an inside look at careers in business and technology
